WELCOME TO PURRFECTA PERSIANS CATTERY In Woodburn Indiana

Waiting lists started for spring 2021
The Persian is usually a medium sized cat, although she is massive and heavily boned. With her masses of fur, she can appear larger than she really is.
The Persian is an extreme-looking breed. The body is short, but thick with thick legs and a short, thick neck. The tail is short and the ears are small. The head is round with large, round eyes. When viewed in profile her face is flat and the nose changes direction so that what is seen is mostly the colored flesh on her nose.
The coat on a Persian is thick, full and long. It is fine, but should be lustrous and glossy.
The Persian is a placid cat that exhibits bursts of kitten-like activity. She will be sleeping in the sun when she suddenly explodes, running around the room and rolling around.
The Persian will stretch out next to you, sleep in your bed, and sit on your lap when she is in the mood. She does not mind changes in routine and is generally friendly with anyone and everyone.
The Persian needs to have her nutrition controlled to stay in good condition. Since the breed is not known for a high degree of energetic exercise, attention must be paid to both her nutrition and regular exercise. That means the Persian must get exercise to keep in top condition. While Persians like to play with their parents and will play with interactive toys, chase balls, and attack catnip mice, you might have to keep after them to exercise daily.
The Persian coat requires attention daily. She must be brushed and combed in order to keep the coat from tangling. In addition, the flat face must be cleaned regularly and carefully as tear stains can be deposited on the face.
The Selkirk Rex is famous for her plush, curly hair that has earned her the nickname "the cat in sheep's clothing." Her loose, flowing curls and curly whiskers are present at birth. The curly-haired gene is dominant, but not all Selkirks are born with these ringlets. Some have straight hair. The long-haired Selkirks have long ringlets, while the short-hairs tend to have shorter, tighter curls. Her "teddy-bear" physical traits make her the perfect option for pet parents looking for a fun-loving and cuddly friend.
What the Selkirk Rex cat breed does have in common with her rex relatives is a lively, energetic, and friendly temperament. She has a vivacious personality and is patient with youngsters as well as dogs (so long as they return the love), making her a great addition to a family with children and other pets.
In addition to her stuffed animal-like thick coat, it's the Selkirk's animated spirit that earns praise from her fans. She's a loving, very affectionate cat that tends to require attention. Although she's not overly persistent or demanding, she may follow her pet parent around the house until she gets what she wants. But she'll definitely snuggle up with you while you're on the couch, at your desk, or anywhere you happen to sit.
Her playful manner is another appealing aspect of her temperament. "The Selkirk has a silly side and is sometimes described as clownish," explains Vetstreet, and "loves being a lap cat and will be happy to chat with you in a quiet voice." She likes to have fun and is very intelligent. She isn't a trouble-maker but does get bored without her people around, which is why it's important to keep her occupied with toys and other energy outlets, like a cat scratching post or food puzzle.
If you choose to welcome a Selkirk Rex cat to your family, be prepared for plenty of attention from guests. "Selkirk Rex owners are consistently stopped by people with anxious hands wanting to pet and feel this soft, plush pet," CFA explains. "The fortunate humans are those who can take these live teddy cats home for cuddles and hug." Your Selkirk will soak up the adoration from people, even if some of them joke about her "having a bad hair day," comment on her curlicue whiskers, or gush over her little lamb characteristics. Luckily, these furry kitties love to be held and snuggled and will thrive on the affection.
Despite having such a thick and luxurious coat, the Selkirk Rex requires little grooming. As long as you give her a good combing (don't use a brush) once a week, she'll retain her silky waves. But as curly-haired humans know, you don't want to over-brush, which could lead to the frizzies. It's for this same reason that if you give your cat a bath, you shouldn't use a thick shampoo that doesn't rinse well, as it will make her fur fall flat. Regular combing also will keep your cat's hair from accumulating all over the house, as the Selkirk Rex does shed moderately, particularly in the summer when shedding is at its peak.
The Selkirk Rex cat is a healthy breed that remains active throughout her life, especially with routine maintenance. In addition to combing, her grooming routine should include brushing her teeth, feeding her well-balanced meals with the right cat food, providing her with fresh, clean water throughout the day, regularly scooping out her litter box, and showing her lots of love. Your fur baby will return the favor with all the love she has to offer, which is a lot.
"My precious Shaun is so in love with his Kitty. Your family helps make this little guy so very happy. He was so excited when Alex bought this beautiful kitty. He slept in living room with "Patrick." He really needed this little kitty. Thank you for making this happen."

I searched for a while and I'm very glad I found Purrfecta Persians! My baby is so calm and sweet. I couldn't have found a better a kitten. Thank you Cassandra!
When I first searched for a Persian kitten I reached out to purrfecta persians after hours of looking, emailing and texting possible kittens, Cassandra was the first to text me back immediately after inquiring about her kittens. She helped us choose the best kitten for our family and then helped us with the adoption process.
Afterwards she give us updates on our baby girl. She always answered us immediately with all our questions we had and helped us get supplies to prepare our home. Which says alot being she is a busy young mom herself. It also is clear these parents and kittens are her babies also. She took extra care with them watching their growth and health and adding extra love along with everything else they needed. When the day to pick up our baby girl finally came and we arrived at the house we were greeted by a handsome young man Colsen and his dog Olaf. They escorted us inside to meet our little girl and her parents. The place was extremely clean and well kept along with the parents and their babies. Cassandra updated us on our little girl and assured us she was eating and drinking on her own. That she was well adjusted and really ready and strong enough to leave and start her new life in our family.
You can tell Cassandra loves these kittens alot by making sure that they have everything they need and more. As we left with one of her babies she asked for updates on her to ensure she was alright and thriving. She made it clear that we can call if we needed anything.
When I sent a updated photos of our beautiful blue eyed girl and a quick video, Cassandra again immediately answered and was happy knowing Felicity is adjusting to her new home and has had no issues. We plan on staying in touch
